DATS Laboratory Information Management System

DATS is a full-featured laboratory information management system, built for the challenges of today’s business and manufacturing environment. From the moment a sample enters the lab, every aspect of the laboratory process can be tracked and quantified. Understanding that customer requirements are always changing to adapt to new opportunities, DATS offers a robust configuration system in which laboratory managers are able to make DATS work for them. FEATURES

Full sample information history: see when and by whom information is manipulated in DATS. Chain of custody is preserved for data, ensuring that managers can audit the trail at any time. All information in DATS is fully backed up, meaning peace of mind for those who rely on it.

Automatically import analysis data from a number of instruments. If an instrument generates data, the DATS team can likely devise a method to import it into DATS. Reducing the number of times data is touched and typed increases accuracy and laboratory efficiency.

Target level management and notifications: automatic messages are sent when a sample analysis is out-of-spec to customizable lists of contacts. Reading back over the previous day’s testing is a relic of history after using DATS. By configuring notification levels for analyses, managers are notified when a sample needs a deeper look or other action. Using the DATS reporting tools ensures consistent analysis of non-conformance or other parameters, allowing more time to be spent on solutions rather than data analysis.

Set due dates for analyses: work lists are generated based on upcoming analysis to be performed. For testing that takes time or is delayed from receiving a sample, setting up automatic due date calculations saves tedious planning work. Generating a list of testing to be performed is a click away, as opposed to complex and unreliable spreadsheets or paper logbooks.

Track usage of lab equipment and be notified when calibrations are due. To keep laboratory testing at optimal accuracy, instruments often require certain calibration or maintenance activities. Planning and tracking this work is automatic within DATS. By tracking data coming from instruments versus a control or the number of times an instrument is used, notifications are generated for the groups responsible. Never produce an avoidably inaccurate result from a lack of regular calibration.

Analyze data graphically, including a full-featured regression interface. As the data flowing through a laboratory grows in volume, the quickest way to detect issues is visually. Noticing shifts in data allows laboratories to offer proactive approaches to deeper analysis and action. DATS offers regular time-based or sample-based trending, with multiple data sources on single charts. Additionally, regression and prediction is available via a robust set of industry-standard mathematical tools. These include both linear and non-linear relationship between data sets with the ability to prune outlier data.

Have reports imported into the report generator interface: consistent reports for internal or external customers. By importing existing reports into DATS, managers can ensure consistent and reproducible reporting regardless of the operating system or software being used. The past experiences of broken spreadsheets or inconsistent visual rendering are gone: DATS exports PDFs that render well on all devices and operating systems. Reports can be automatically sent via email.

Robust administration interface for managing all aspects of the application, including users and permission groups. DATS can accommodate any number of organizational needs, including separate application rights for administration, report generation, data entry, and data manipulation. As conditions change, users’ permissions change as well through the administrator.

Easy data export to common formats, including CSV and XLS. Data stored in DATS is easily extracted from the database for usage in any number of common data formats. Never again be stuck with the task of pulling old data for analysis and wasting time trying to get the data into a usable format. Extraction is easy and consistent.
